Nobodies Are Somebodies Podcast with Chad Vice

I am Chad Vice, co-owner and operator of Championship Vinyl, an online record store. Lots of people are somebodies, and millions more are considered "nobodies". I want to bring you the stories of people of everyday and any day, because even if you think you are a nobody, you are always a somebody. The people I talk to are not famous, but they are all interesting characters. Every week, a new story, a new guest, a new friend. The Nobodies Are Somebodies podcast - listen for fun, hear for life!

Real People With Real Stories

Thank you for listening to my podcast

Oct 29, 2018

This episode of the podcast is a preview of what myself Chad Vice and Eric V. of Open Topic Podcast will be doing when we visit the big underground streets and tunnels of Toronto, Ontario, Canada coming up in November 2018, as it's the return of 'Nobodies in Toronto' but with a different take on this year's feature. Instead of featuring guests from the city, we are taking the time to go on an underground tour of the city's historical subway and street car tunnels as well as visiting the famous underground shopping mall. That and who knows what else, and it will be captured via various audio and video clips that will make up the following week's podcast, as well as video to be found on the Nobodies Are Somebodies Facebook page and the SebCamCo TV YouTube channel

Eric gives us a preview of why he wants to do this feature, what inspired it, who he's talked to about it, and his growing interest in the political and structure of his home city, right here, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, the country's capital city!

In this Prime Cuts episode, we check out the Top 5 least downloaded episodes in the history of the podcast, and hopefully encourage older fans of the show to check what they may have missed, as well as getting newcomers up to speed on some episodes from the first season when the Nobodies Are Somebodies podcast was continuing to evolve! Enjoy!

It's time for another round of questions with Richard Mystery, and just who is Richard Mystery? We may never know...

Seriously we really don't find out anything worthwhile here.

At all.

Kent Goranson, husband of my former guest and cancer warrior Penelope Goranson, has some interesting stories of his own to share, and I was happy to hear that he was willing to share some of them with me on an episode of the podcast.

Kent recounts that he has suffered some memory loss due to severe head trauma from a car accident years prior, and has affected some of his recollections, but that doesn't stop him from dishing out some great memories from his very full life and showing off his wit and charm. We discuss his love of motorcycles and owning a bike shop, we discuss his interest in stars and planets and physics that have pushed him into owning his current store, Focus Scientific here in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and we also hear how he grew up in a small town in Quebec but how he was actually born in Toronto at his mother's behest, and why she wanted to have her baby there. We also learn of a potentially scary incident on the train tracks when he was just a young(er) one!

This episode was recorded just yonder of a busy kitchen, so it does feature some background noise but the story of Kent is at the forefront and I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed recording it! Thank you Kent and Penelope for being awesomesauce!

Back by no one's demand, but a seemingly popular series in the Nobodies Are Somebodies story book, this 4th installment of the News of the World episode has guest host, former guest herself Shawna Robinson filling in for my good buddy Fred, and she sure knows how to light it up and get a response from me. We debate the importance of the NAFTA agreement to Canada and if we really need the business arrangement with the US for us to survive, and also we touch on what can happen when we lose faith in law enforcement officials when they commit crimes themselves. Exploring the human factor of the police here in Canada and all over the world in general.

It's more News of the World, and so my thanks to Shawna, and let's she if she can hang like Fred does!
